Telco
Planning
personnel are pioneers in voice and data network switching,
wireless and deep fiber optic network solutions.
Consultants hold patents with unique skills in
development of Intelligent Network (SS7and AIN) switching,
GigaBit, Spreadspectrum and Passive Optical Network (PON)
network elements, telecommunications network provider
architecture. In 1994 with a
Telephone Operations Plan for a Cable TV, Telco Planning started
expanded work into Cable and Satellite Television network
operators. In 1995, Telco Planning also started work in fiber
distribution networks to Multiple Dwelling Units across
Portland, Oregon by combining Cable TV, Telephone and Internet
Access. Many projects were simultaneous among nine active
consultants in diverse areas such as Directory Assistance,
Internet Operations, JAVA and GUI base OSS/BSS screens on the
new TMN models. Telco Planning was known as a Carrier
Interconnections Consultancy.
Telco Planning, Inc. closed in January 2000. Today, Telco Planning is the resurrection of the 10 year-old consultancy for the development of carrier (service provider) network and operations initiatives.
From 2000 to 2004 the consultants went their own ways. By the end of 2005 some consultants returned and the firm has added new associates. The consultants have been involved in Research and Development inside the technical standards of the ITU Passive Optical Networks technologies, Spread Spectrum Microwave and DOCSIS/IPTV and DVB. With three years work in these areas work is proceeding to deployment solutions for many carriers in access networks, content video streaming and voice switching, to the operations support module enhancements. Telco Planning and it’s personnel have developed a rock solid set of skills.
This
work
is not just in the scope of carrier network engineering. Telco Planning uses the skillsets of
Element Management System and Network Management system
northbound and southbound interfaces for operations and business
support systems (OSS/BSS). Telco Planning personnel have
been active in FCC mandated interconnection issues managed
through OSS/BSS operations. Telco Planning was an early
proponent of the TMN model for OSS/BSS, growth to access via
JAVA instead of GUI adopted by the Telemanagement Forum (TMF)
models.
The new directions represents the changes service provider have needed to make. In the early days of digital technologies, the budgets were geared towards network elements and engineers. Todays network operators budgets reflect operations, information technologies and personnel.
